The individual is responsible for processing customer payments for products / services sold by the dealership and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction for every business transaction.
The cashier is sometimes the customer’s last contact with the dealership and therefore, must represent the dealership in a friendly, professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Greets customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner.
* Computes customer bills.
* Receives cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; records amount received.
* Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
* Provides refunds or credit invoices to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers.
* Reconciles the cash drawer daily.
* Answers customer questions about service performed or products purchased, or refers them to someone who can.
* Ensure that customer complaints are handled promptly, with genuine concern and according to dealership guidelines.
* Provides clerical assistance to departments as needed.
* Works with department managers to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value and any changes in price.
* Answer the department phone, transfer calls to the people requested or best suited to take the calls and take messages when the needed personnel are not available.
* Maintains a professional appearance.
* Keep your work area neat and clean.
* Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership.
(Employees or customers).
* Perform any other administrative tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to read, write, add, subtract, divide and comprehend written instructions / information.
* 6-12 months previous work experience (preferred).
* Demonstrated customer service skills.
* Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
* Previous industry experience (preferred).
