Employs broad knowledge of research principles, practices and procedures to plan, coordinate and conduct research related to economic development.
Provides research analysis and complex administrative assistance for a variety of projects and programs.
Duties typically include program/project planning, development, and coordination; researching funding opportunities, participating in grant and/or proposal writing for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors; data collection, statistical analysis, reporting and presentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree, preferably in Social Sciences including Economic Development, Economics, Statistics, Law, or related field.
Two years experience working data and information related to economic development and regional economies using social science datasets, including U.
S.
Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.
S.
Bureau of Economic Analysis, and US.
Census Bureau data.
Experience conducting statistical analyses using SAS, SPSS, STATTA, or R.

Preferred Qualifications
Significant experience with two or more statistical software packages (i.
e.
SAS, SPSS, STATA, or R).
Experience conducting econometric analyses and economic impact studies using IMPLAN.
Extensive experience utilizing economic data, including U.
S.
Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.
S.
Bureau of Economic Analysis, and US.
Census Bureau data.
Strong skills in database management.
Experience in writing proposals and project reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Working knowledge of economic research methods, economic development tools and analyses.
Strong research and analytic skills.
Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse constituency of clients from the public and non-profit sector.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse constituency of clients from the public and not-for-profit sector.
Detailed oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze and organize information, have effective project and time management skills and be well organized.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
