Environmental Health & Safety:
Protect the employees, customers and the environment of Northern Stamping Inc.
by preventing and eliminating injury and illness to employees and assist the company to comply with federal, state, and local regulations along with other legal and corporate requirements.
Training: Under limited supervision, conducts integrated training and need assessments.
This position evaluates, designs, coordinates and delivers a comprehensive range of training and education programs to both hourly and salaried employees.
*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES*
1.
Manage and continuously improve NSI Health and Safety Programs in adherence to all Local, State, Federal and Company requirements.
Health and Safety Programs managed by this position may include, but are not limited to: Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Safety, Process Safety, Ergonomics, Hazard Communication, Biosafety, and PPE.
2.
Guide General Safety Programs including but not limited to Lock-out/Tag-out, Hot Work, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, OSHA Recordkeeping, and others.
3.
Lead monthly Safety and Environmental Team meetings.
4.
Perform accident and near miss investigations to determine causation and make work process suggestions to eliminate future incidents.
5.
This position may manage emergency response including emergency evacuation and coordinating outside emergency response agencies.

Manage, report on, and continuously improve programs such as Air Emissions/Refrigeration Management, Wastewater and Storm Water Management, Protection of Surface and Groundwater, Waste Management, Environmental Remediation and Community Right to Know.

Inspect workplaces, and minimize or eliminate hazards from processes, materials and incorrect working methods.
* Formulate training outlines and determining instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
* Deliver group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or management areas.
* Coordinate administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.
* Develop training curricula and recommend or utilize vendor programs which meet instructional goals and objectives.
* Continually evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs, utilize relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
* Regular participation in the new employee onboarding process to include safety and other manufacturing-based knowledge training.
*KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS*
* Bachelor’s degree in the area of Environmental Sciences, Safety, Training, or equivalent.
* 3 - 5 years + of experience of training employees with a demonstrated knowledge of safety, health and environmental compliance supporting a manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as demonstrated by an ability to effectively work with hourly, salaried and management employees.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Previous experience in a union environment preferred.
*WORKING CONDITIONS*
The work will be performed in both an office environment located in a manufacturing plant and the plant floor itself.
The position will serve two separate facilities: one stamping operation and one welding operation.
Frequently, the EHS/Training Specialist will need to interact with employees on the plant floor.
However, the position would rarely require, lift, push, pull and other similar functions to the extent that other hourly plant floor employees would perform.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.
