The McIntyre Center has been treating substance use disorders for over 35 years after Edie and Joe McIntyre laid the foundation for a more individualized approach to recovery in 1985.

*The McIntyre Center is looking to fill a full-time position for a Peer Support/Client Care for Second Shift, with Rotating Weekends.

The Peer Support Specialist/Client Care Coordinator will be required to support others in recovery from substance use disorder.
Our Peer Support Specialists and Client Care Coordinators serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
*Responsibilities*
·*Assist clients in their desire to change*.
Present with a positive attitude knowing that people can change with positive support.
· *Empathetic Support*.
The ability to understand that our clients will struggle with intense emotions and you are able to demonstrate understanding of their struggle and present with compassionate care in a safe and supportive environment, with demonstrated problem-solving skills and appropriate boundaries.
· *Assist clients with sober support activities*.
Engaging with clients regarding a variety of facility and client activities, helping plan/schedule recreational and other pro-social activities.
- Meet with clients on an individual basis for peer recovery support- Meet with clients on a group basis for peer recovery support.
· *Administrative support.
* You are able to enter information regarding client progress into computer database tracking systems, utilize technology for communication and support services.
*Daily Activities:*
-Drive Clients to and from appointments and activities in the community.
- Account for clients whereabouts at all times while in Peer Supporter care.
- Monitor any unusual circumstances/conditions of clients.
- Respond to any emergency situations as needed.
*Requirements*
· Certified Peer Support Specialist in the State of Ohio, Preferred
· Working Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders
· Minimum 2 years’ sobriety
·Good Driving Record with ability to drive a 15 passenger van
Ability to work a shift that has rotating weekends.
High School, College Preferred
