Solon Center for the Arts is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Afterschool Instructor for SCA’s after school programming.
Approximately 2.
5 – 10 hour per week, with additional teaching hours possible.
• Weekday afternoon hours; 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
• Instruction in Art, Dance, Music and/or Theater for Arts4Kids (Grades 1-4) & Kindergarten Club (Grade K)
• Additional hours possible teaching regularly scheduled classes, workshops, summer camps, events
Qualified applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, Dance, Music, Music Education, or Theater from an accredited institution or have related work or performance experience equivalent to such a degree.
Interested applicants must have a minimum two (2) years of experience working as Instructor/Teacher.
Responsibilities include:
• Create lessons, plan, prepare and instruct classes
• Organize, promote interest and facilitate activities such as warm ups, games, classroom lessons and materials with any arts background (art, dance, music or theater) as well as outdoor activities with weather permitting, etc.
• Help students learn and work towards a performance four times during the school year classroom material (art, dance, music or theater.
)
Candidates for this position will work closely with the Department Coordinators and must be able to work with students of all ages and skill levels, with a specific focus on elementary-aged children.
Applicants must be professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom and may be the lead instructor during rehearsals.
In addition, the applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Applicants must be able to work in a team environment.
This position offers a starting rate from $28.
00/hour.
Compensation will be determined based upon previous education, performance, and teaching experience.
