Description: Support program implementation by working with middle school and/or high school at-risk students individually and in small groups.
Provide homework techniques training, assist in coordinating life skills training, assist with enrichment projects, and provide appropriate interventions to at-risk students after school in academic, social/emotional, and recreational activities.
Modify inappropriate behavior by working with students to create peer coping skills.
Under the supervision of the coordinator and building principal.
Job Summary:
Schools throughout the district: Monday-Friday; 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm
On-Site:
Arrive 15 minutes prior to the program to start daily
Remain 15 minutes after the end of the program to aid in clean up, reporting, support late students
Secure (lock-up) instructional and other materials and the site
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
OR one year of related successful work experience
OR an Associate's Degree or higher
OR 2 years of college coursework
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with online academic intervention programs
Additional standard Educational Parapro requirements
An Educational Aide Permit or license with the Ohio Department of Education
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with middle and high school students
Experience with at-risk, diverse, multi-cultural youth
Salary: $16.
07/hour (non-degreed); $18.
16/hour (2-year degree or beyond); $19.
77/hour (teaching certificate)
