☆ This is a Genuine 1930's (Depression Era) Red Cedar "ROOS CHEST" ☆ This particular chest is rare due to its carvings, apron on the top, and foot style.
It's in beautiful condition and still has that amazing cedar smell.
It's been very well cared for! ☆ I've seen others that are kind of similar, but not one that is the exact same model, size, or condition as ours.
☆ It was recently appraised at $600.

Edward Roos Cedar Chests, Commonly Known As Ed Roos Chests, Are a antique line Of Cedar Chests Manufactured By The Ed Roos Company Of Forest Park, Illinois, Which Operated From 1918 to 1951.
The Ed Roos Cedar Chests Were Originally Bridal Hope Chests And were marketed around the World.
In 1916, During World War I, the factory was shut down because these Chests were considered a Luxury.

(Price Back Then Would Have Been In The Thousands!) However, In 1918, Edward Roos Moved Manufacturing to Forest Park, Illinois, where he opened "The Ed Roos Company Of Forest Park".
During Its Operational Period, This company was the largest manufacturing plant In Forest Park & provided Employment to approximately 400 People! In 1943, Edward Roos Died At The Age of 62.
Shortly after his Death, the production of the Company was once again restricted by the Government because of The Second World War.
After Ed Roos' Death, his Two sons, Otto and Edward, took over the family business - Renamed The Company, "Roos Cedar Chest Company", which Was Based In Chicago, Illinois, and manufactured Cedar Chests, only! The company never got back on its feet, and was Sold/Closed in 1951
