Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat dental malocclusions and oral abnormalities
- Design and implement treatment plans for patients, including the use of braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances
- Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment as necessary
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide guidance on maintaining orthodontic appliances
- Collaborate with other dental professionals, such as dentists and oral surgeons, to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in orthodontic techniques and technologies
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program
- Valid state dental license to practice orthodontics
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, physiology, and occlusion
- Proficiency in using orthodontic software systems, such as Eaglesoft or other similar programs
- Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children and teenagers
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
