*Medical Assistant Expectations:*
* Assist the physician and/or medical providers during exams and office procedures, ensuring the comfort and care of patients.
* Involved in direct patient care and responsible for tasks including, but not limited to, assessing vital signs, rooming patients, collecting patient information, collecting lab information, and running point of care lab testing, immunizations, etc.
* Assist providers with patient requests as needed, including but not limited to: Obtaining prior authorizations, signed orders, and triaging patient messages and calls.
* Assist with exam room clean up and set up.
* Contact and counsel patients regarding test results under the guidance of the provider.
* Maintenance of laboratory and medication logs.
* Sterilize medical instruments.
* Fill in on front office duties, such as patient scheduling, check in and out, verifying patient insurance information, and assisting with patient forms.
* Return voicemail messages.
* Clerical duties such as tending to faxes, printer, copying/ filing.
* Assist with various administrative tasks when needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Requirements:*
* High School diploma or equivalent, minimum of two years of professional experience.
* In lieu of experience, will accept a new graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must uphold the highest standards of legal, ethical, and professional conduct.
* Must understand and support the unique mission and vision of Veranova Health.
* Must be available Mondays and Wednesdays.
*Pay:*
Dependent on skills and/ or qualifications, $17.
50- $19.
50 per hour to start.
